What is a Vampire?
Well you could easily find some sort of answer by viewing a dictionary or pulling up some form of media that's been floating around throughout the decades.
A vampire, as i would define it simply, is an individual (or creature) that must take from others to survive. A vampire is something similar to a parasite or symbiont that requires another living organism in order to survive.
A Real or Modern Vampire is a bit more difficult to define and you will likely find many variations around the community.
Real Vampires are NOT physically immortal. They are not dead, or undead (though they can die). They are not the monsters or mysterious and attractive creatures you see portrayed in film, novels and other media.
They are normal, everyday people. Friends, family, co-workers, strangers on the street who believe that they require blood and/or life-energy from others (and sources outside their own being) in order to live and function comfortably and maintain their general health.
Turning
Can i be turned/Will you or someone turn me/is turning possible?
Many debate the possibility of turning. some say it's possible, others say it's not. Whether one believes in it or not, the likelihood of someone believing, being willing and having the knowledge/skill enough to attempt such a thing is slim to none.
More likely than not, if you ask a question like this the answer will be "you will not be/can not be turned" or "turning is impossible".
Am I a Vampire?
If you have to ask, then you probably aren't. No symptom or story you list, imagine or claim (save maybe one, though anyone can talk out of their ass) will be an absolute indication of vampirism. No one can, or should tell you if you are or are not a vampire. It is a conclusion you must come to on your own, and the only thing a person, who is not you, can typically do for you is to educate and guide you to proper information.
To be continued as questions arise frequently...
